NGC 6390 is a 13.7 mag bright spiral galaxy of the Hubble type "Sbc" in the constellation Dragon in the northern sky . It is an estimated 149 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 70,000 ly. In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6381 , NGC 6393 , NGC 6394 , NGC 6399 .
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on July 7, 1885 .
