NGC 6411 is an 11.8 mag bright elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E4 in the constellation Dragon in the northern sky . It is an estimated 179 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a disk diameter of about 100,000 ly.
The object was discovered by Heinrich d'Arrest on October 27, 1861 .
