NGC 6426 is a globular cluster in the constellation of the Serpent Bearer, 67,200 light years away .
The star cluster was discovered on July 15, 1786 by William Herschel with the help of an 18.7 inch telescope and later included in his New General Catalog by Johan Dreyer .
