NGC 6445 , also called Little Gem Nebula ("Little Jewel Nebula ") or Crescent Nebula ("Crescent Moon Nebula "), is an 11.2 mag bright planetary nebula in the constellation Sagittarius and about 1380 parsecs from Earth.
It was discovered on May 28, 1786 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who noted "pB, S, iF".
