NGC 6461 is a 15.1 likes bright spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sab in the constellation Dragon .
It was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on September 18, 1884 .
Due to an error in the position specification , the Galaxie PGC 60651 is based on Swift's description “eF, pS, R; nr terminal * of 5 forming semi-circle “the most likely object. However, PGC 60659 would be a better match for Swift's original position .
