NGC 6482 is an elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E1 constellation Hercules in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 183 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on July 12, 1830 .
