Auke Slotegraaf

Auke Slotegraaf (* in Stellenbosch ) is a South African psychohistorian and astronomer (specialized in observing stars ).

Life

Slotegraaf grew up in his native Stellenbosch and was interested both culturally and scientifically in the history of astronomy in his native South Africa. He is an honorary member of the Astronomical Society of Southern Africa and editor of their annual astronomical manual, Sky Guide . He is also a member of the Cape Magician's Circle .

Slotegraaf has received several awards for public relations in astronomy, is co-founder of the Southern Star Party , member of the board of directors and chairman of the Center for Astronomical Heritage .
