NGC 6507 is an open star cluster (type definition "IV2p") in the constellation Sagittarius . It was discovered on June 27, 1786 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "a cluster of scattered small stars, 8 ′ diameter, not very rich".
