NGC 6516 is a 15.0 likes bright spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Draco the northern sky . It is estimated to be 348 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light-years across . In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6512 and NGC 6521 .
The object was discovered by Heinrich d'Arrest on October 27, 1861 .
