NGC 6528 is a globular cluster in the constellation Sagittarius that is listed in the New General Catalog . The globular cluster was discovered on June 24, 1784 by the astronomer William Herschel with his 18.7-inch telescope and the discovery was later recorded in the New General Catalog.
Like the nearby globular cluster NGC 6522, it is located in the so-called Baade window , in whose direction of view towards the galactic center the view is not obscured by dust from the Milky Way.
