Wolfgang Spindler (theologian)

Wolfgang Hariolf Spindler OP (born September 22, 1968 in Ellwangen ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian , religious priest and professor at the Philosophical-Theological University in St. Pölten .

Education and professional career

Wolfgang Spindler studied law, theology, philosophy and political science in Würzburg , Munich and Vienna . He graduated as a lawyer and a master of theology. He worked as a research assistant at the Chair for Christian Social Sciences at the Theological Faculty of Trier and was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD. His dissertation was entitled "Humanistic Appeasement"? Hans Barion's criticism of the political and social doctrine of the Second Vatican Council .

In 1996 he entered the Dominican Order . In 2001 Spindler was ordained a priest and, after stops in Augsburg and Trier, worked as a pastor at the Theatine Church in Munich . Among other things, he has been the deputy chairman of the Institute for Social Sciences Walberberg in Bonn since 2007 and editor of the two-month social-ethical publication Die Neueordnung since 2008 . Since 2013 he has been a professor at the Philosophical-Theological University of St. Pölten.
