NGC 6510 = NGC 6511 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Dragon in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 200 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light-years across .
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on October 9, 1884 . Swift's second observation on May 30, 1886 led to a second entry in the catalog under NGC 6510 due to the slightly different description and a misinterpretation by Dreyer .
