Joyeux is located about 30 kilometers northeast of Lyon . Joyeux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Versailleux in the north, Rignieux-le-Franc in the east and northeast, Saint-Éloi in the east and southeast, Faramans in the south, Le Montellier in the southwest and Birieux in the west.
