Lavours is a French commune in the Ain department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Belley in the arrondissement of Belley . The residents call themselves Lavortins. Neighboring communities are Culoz in the north, Chanaz in the east, Cressin-Rochefort in the south, Pollieu in the southwest and Flaxieu in the west. The Rhone flows through Lavours .
