Souclin is located about 47 kilometers northeast of Lyon in the Côtière region south of the Dombes .

In addition to the core town, the municipality also includes the villages of Soudon and Fay .

Souclin is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Torcieu in the north and north-west, Cleyzieu in the north, Conand in the east and north-east, Bénonces in the south-east, Villebois in the south, Sault-Brénaz in the south and south-west, Saint-Sorlin-en-Bugey in the west and Vaux -en-Bugey in the northwest.
