Cheignieu la Balme is a French commune in the Ain department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Belley in the arrondissement of the same name . It borders in the north on Rossillon , in the north-east on Virieu-le-Grand , in the south-east on Chazey-Bons with Pugieu , in the south on Contrevoz , in the south-west on Innimond , in the west on Ordonnaz and in the north-west on La Burbanche .
