The inhabitants are called Villacuciens , Loyards or Mollonais .

Villieu-Loyes-Mollon is located on the river Ain and its small tributaries Gardon and Toison in the Côtière countryside on the edge of the Bresse . Villieu-Loyes-Mollon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Châtillon-la-Palud in the north, Saint-Maurice-de-Rémens in the northeast, Chazey-sur-Ain in the east and southeast, Meximieux in the south and west, Rignieux-le-Franc in the West and north-west and Crans in the north-west.
