Massignieu-de-Rives is a French commune in the Ain department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Belley in the arrondissement of the same name . The residents call themselves Massignolants.

geography

Massignieu-de-Rives borders in the north-west on Magnieu with Magnieu and Saint-Champ , in the north on Cressin-Rochefort , in the east on Lucey , in the south-east on Jongieux and Yenne and in the south-west on Parves-et-Nattages . In addition to the main settlement, the municipality also includes the hamlets of Grand Écrivieu and Sillins and part of the Lac du Lit au Roi . This small lake is touched by the Canal de Derivation du Rhône . The natural course of the Rhône forms the municipal boundary in the west.
