Flaxieu is a French commune in the Ain department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Belley in the arrondissement of the same name . It borders Vongnes in the north-west, Ceyzérieu in the north, Culoz in the north-east, Lavours in the east, Pollieu in the south and Marignieu in the south-west . The residents call themselves Flaxiolans.
