Contrevoz is a French commune in the Ain department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Belley in the arrondissement of the same name . It is bordered to the northwest and north by Cheignieu-la-Balme , to the northeast by Chazey-Bons with Pugieu , to the east by Andert-et-Condon , to the south by Saint-Germain-les-Paroisses and to the west by Innimond . The residents call themselves controvolats.
