Aaron Reinig (born February 20, 1996 in Bad Nauheim , Germany ) is a German - American ice hockey player who has been under contract at EC Bad Nauheim in the DEL2 since April 2019 .

Career

Aaron Reinig's father Dale played as a professional for various clubs in Germany in the 1980s and 1990s. During his time at EC Bad Nauheim , his son Aaron Reinig was born in Bad Nauheim .

Reinig, who has German and US citizenship, played for the Buffalo Jr. Sabers first in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL), then in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).

At the end of May 2017, Reinig signed his first professional contract with ESV Kaufbeuren  from the DEL2 . In the summer break of 2018 he moved to the German top division club Crocodiles Hamburg , he left the economically troubled Hamburg at the end of 2018 and accepted an offer from Deggendorfer SC (DEL2).

In April 2019 he was signed by the EC Bad Nauheim . While preparing for the 2019/20 season, he tore his cruciate ligament and was out for the rest of the season.
