Mike Card (born February 18, 1986 in Kitchener , Ontario ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with the Löwen Frankfurt from the DEL2 .
Career
Mike Card began his career as a hockey player with the Kelowna Rockets , for which he was active from 2002 to 2006 in Canada's top junior league Western Hockey League . With the Rockets, the defender won the President's Cup in 2003 and 2005 , and the Memorial Cup in 2004 . During this period he was also selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2004 in the eighth round as a total of 241st player by the Buffalo Sabers , for whom he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2006/07 season , where he scored in four games - and remained unpunished. The rest of the season, however, the right-shooter spent as well as the following season with Buffalo's farm team from the American Hockey League , the Rochester Americans . In addition, Card was in a total of 15 games for the Florida Everblades from the ECHL on the ice, in which he scored nine points, including two goals. In the 2008/09 season, Card ran exclusively for Buffalo's new AHL farm team, the Portland Pirates , but was only used 19 times.
In the summer of 2009 Card, who also has a German passport, completed a trial training session at ERC Ingolstadt from the DEL , but was not required. The Kassel Huskies then signed him for a month. A short time later, Card received a contract extension until the end of the season. In the 2010/11 season he was active for the Kölner Haie. In July 2011 he moved to the Italian first division club HC Alleghe . In August 2012, the German-Canadian signed a one-year contract with the Swedish second division club Tingsryds AIF from HockeyAllsvenskan .
For the 2013/14 season Card switched to the German DEL2 to the Heilbronner Falken , which he left after one season in the direction of Eispiraten Crimmitschau , who also play in the DEL2.
From 2015 Card was then under contract with the Löwen Frankfurt from the DEL2 and became DEL2 champion with them in 2017. Due to an adductor injury , he missed the entire 2018/19 season and then left the Lions.
In October 2019 he was signed by the EC Bad Nauheim .
