NGC 6547 is a 13.5 likes bright lenticular galaxy of Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Hercules at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 128 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 1273 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on August 7, 1864 .
