NGC 6571 is a 14.4 mag bright compact elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Hercules in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 220 million light years from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6576 , NGC 6577 , NGC 6579 , NGC 6580 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on July 27, 1864 .
