NGC 6576 is a 14.6 mag bright galaxy of the Hubble type S in the constellation Hercules in the northern sky . It is an estimated 235 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter. Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with NGC 6577 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6571 , NGC 6579 , NGC 6580 , NGC 6586 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on August 7, 1864 .
