NGC 6586 is a 13.8 mag bright galaxy of the Hubble-type S? in the constellation Hercules . It is estimated to be 149 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on July 27, 1864 .
