NGC 6606 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Lyra the northern sky . It is estimated to be 267 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered by Édouard Stephan on August 8, 1883 .
