NGC 6627 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Hercules in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 243 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter.
The Type Ia supernova SN 1998V was observed here.
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on July 13, 1863 .
