NGC 6644 is a planetary nebula in the constellation Sagittarius . The celestial object was first described in 1888 in NGC , who named the American astronomer Edward Charles Pickering as the discoverer in 1880 using a 15-inch telescope; it was identified as a planetary nebula by Edwin Hubble in 1921 .
