NGC 6657 is the name of a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Lyra in the northern sky. It is an estimated 323 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter. It has an apparent magnitude of 13.7 mag and an apparent size of 0.8 '× 0.4'.
The object was discovered on July 16, 1876 by the French astronomer Édouard Jean-Marie Stephan .
