NGC 6641 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Hercules at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 193 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Truman Henry Safford on August 9, 1866 .
