NGC 6664 is an open cluster of Trumpler type III2m in the constellation Shield on the ecliptic . It has an apparent magnitude of 7.8 mag and an angular diameter of 12 '. The cluster is around 6,200 light years from the solar system.
The object was discovered on June 16, 1784 by William Herschel .
