NGC 6568 is an open cluster of Trumpler type III1m in the constellation Sagittarius on the ecliptic . It has an apparent magnitude of 8.6 mag and an angular diameter of 12 '. The cluster is around 3,300 light years from the solar system and is estimated to be 500 million years old.
The object was discovered on May 26, 1786 by William Herschel .
