NGC 6479 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Draco the northern sky . It is estimated to be 306 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter.
The supernovae SN 2007cl (Type Ic) and SN 2009ay (Type II) were observed here.
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on April 20, 1885 .
