NGC 6447 is a 12.9 mag light barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Hercules . It is estimated to be 309 million light years from the Milky Way and forms a gravitationally bound double galaxy with NGC 6446
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on July 9, 1864 .
