NGC 6403 is a 13.3 mag bright, lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Peacock and about 213 million light years from the Milky Way.
It was discovered on June 28, 1834 by John Herschel with an 18-inch reflector telescope, which was called “eeF. The following of two "noted. The other named object is NGC 6398 .
