NGC 7314 = Arp 14 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble-type SBbc in the constellation Southern Pisces , which is about 66 million light-years away from the Milky Way .
Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class spiral galaxies with separated sections (Arp catalog) .
NGC 7314 was discovered on July 29, 1834 by the British astronomer John Frederick William Herschel .
