NGC 3445 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBm in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 95 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years across .
Together with PGC 32784 it forms the gravitationally bound galaxy pair Arp 24 or KPG 256 and together with NGC 3440 and NGC 3458 the NGC 3445 group ( LGG 226 ).

Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of one -armed spiral galaxies (Arp catalog) .

The object was discovered on April 8, 1793 by the German-British astronomer William Herschel .
