NGC 3458 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 and constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 7 million light years from the Milky Way and about 35,000 light years in diameter. Together with NGC 3445 , NGC 3440 and PGC 32784 , it forms the NGC 3445 group ( LGG 226 ).
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 8, 1793 .
