NGC 3459 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Becher in the southern sky . It is an estimated 182 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 3431 .
The property was discovered by Francis Preserved Leavenworth on January 5, 1887 .
