NGC 3474 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type S with active galaxies core in Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 404 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years across. Together with NGC 3473 , it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3454 , NGC 3455 , NGC 3487 , IC 656 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on April 24, 1887 .
