William Merz

William Merz (born April 25, 1878 in Red Bud , Illinois , † March 17, 1946 in Overland , Missouri ) was an American gymnast and track and field athlete .

At the Olympic Games in 1904 in St. Louis, he won silver on the rings in apparatus gymnastics and bronze in the individual all-around, horse jump and pommel horse. In athletics, he won bronze in a three-way battle .
