NGC 3485 is a barred spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SB (r) b: in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic , which is an estimated 60 million light-years away from the Milky Way .
The object was discovered on April 8, 1784 by the astronomer William Herschel using his 18.7 inch telescope.
