NGC 3506 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type Sc in Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 282 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies NGC 3524 , IC 663 , IC 664 , IC 666 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The Type Ic supernova SN 2003L was observed here.

The object was discovered on March 11, 1784 by the astronomer William Herschel with a 48 cm telescope .
