NGC 3488 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Great Bear. It is estimated to be 137 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 8, 1793 .
