Halyna Hryhoriwna Kruk ( Ukrainian Галина Григорівна Крук ; born November 30, 1974 in Lviv , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian writer , translator and university teacher.

Life

Kruk grew up in Lviv, formerly Lemberg, and studied Ukrainian literature at the university there . In 2001 she received her doctorate. Since then she has been working as a university teacher for Ukrainian literature.

Her literary debut was in 1997 with the volume of poetry "Мандри у пошуках дому" (Hike in search of a house). In addition to her work as a poet, she also writes children's books, which have been translated into more than 15 languages. She also translates literature from Polish into Ukrainian.

Kruk has received numerous literary prizes.
