NGC 3489 is a lenticular galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SB0-a in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 26 million light years from the Milky Way and is listed as a Seyfert galaxy .

The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 8, 1784 .
