Career

In 1987 Potazsnyk took part as an amateur for the first time in the Australian Professional Championship , but lost his opening game 4-6 against Sam Frangie . Shortly thereafter, he became a professional player for the 1988/89 season. During his first season Potazsnyk reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Professional Championship with victories over Edward Charlton and Glen Wilkinson , but lost in this against Robby Foldvari . Apart from that, he took part in the third event of the WPBSA non-ranking series , in which he defeated Jack Fitzmaurice and lost to Eddie Sinclair in the round of 64 , as well as in the qualification for the Snooker World Championship , in which, however, with 6: 10 against the South African Derek Mienie lost his opening game.

After he did not play a single game for a season, Potazsnyk took part again at the end of the 1990/91 season in qualifying for the World Snooker Championship , in which he benefited from the non-fighting task of Jim Meadowcroft and with the help of a victory over Graham Cripsey the round of the last 96 reached, but in which he had to admit defeat Les Dodd . As a result, he was led to world number 138 during the next season . However, the Australian did not play any more professional games and ended his career as a professional snooker player at the end of the 1992/93 season after only five seasons.
