Tournament course
In the final round of the Crucible Theater , one seeded player in a world ranking position between 1 and 16 met a qualifier. While the round of the last 32, like qualification, was played in the best of 19 frames mode , the eighth and quarter-finals were played over a maximum of 25. The semifinals, in turn, lasted a maximum of 31 frames and the winner was determined in the final with the best of 35 frames mode .
final
In the clearest final in World Cup history, Davis was able to work his way out a lead right from the start. Parrott only got the third and seventh frame of the first session, so Davis went into the evening session with a 5-2 lead. There he moved to 13: 3 and played a century break and five more breaks of more than 50 points in the nine frames of the session. In the third session, Davis immediately got all five frames needed to win and thus won his sixth world title.
