Events

The World Snooker Championships have been held at the Crucible Theater since 1977 , making it famous beyond England's borders. Thus the Crucible is considered the " cathedral of snooker sport" and the name is synonymous with the world championship. After a contract extension, the world championship will be held in the Crucible Theater at least until the 50th anniversary in 2027. In 2019 the World Seniors Championship also took place for the first time in the Crucible Theater.

There are also championships in other indoor sports (e.g. table tennis or squash ).
